Whispers of My Past is oil paint over rice paper and collaged letters from my great-aunt on a 6"x12" canvas. This piece was created in remembrence of my great-aunt. She was a very beautiful, strong woman. Even though she is not here today, little whispers come at all times that remind me of how important she was and will always be to me.

Metanoia
Metanoia is a 20"x24" mixed media piece on watercolor paper. This piece was created with the idea that life comes with struggles, implications, and disappointments: life's rain, and can be overwhelming in its mere exisistence. The beauty is to recognize life's rain as an opportunity of the spiritual growth that lies within it for the future.
Transition
Transition is a 30"x40" canvas with collage, rice paper, and oil paint. I wanted this piece to portray that a new beginning follows every ending. The figure is walking on a railroad track that floats above pieces of maps. The tree's roots are intertwined with the maps lines, and the doors in the sky represent the different opportunities for a new beginning.
Nature's Repose
WWII Pocket Diary Memories
This work is a collage of my great-uncle's pocket diary of WWII and a letter he wrote to my great-grandmother. Over the top of the collage is oil paint on a 24"x 48" canvas. The figure in this piece is my grandmother wearing my great-uncle's hat upon his homecoming. I arranged the letter and pocket diary pages in the order of an American flag.
Show Me
Show Me is a mixed media piece on canvas that is 12"x36". This is a self-portrait that was created with the idea that some days may feel chaotic in an upside down world. The upside down portrait gives the feeling of tension; however, the tension is balanced with peaceful items: teacups, a flowering tree, and a pillow. SHOW ME PEACE!
The Essence of Nature
The Essence of Nature is a mixed media piece that is 30"x38". This work of art was created to show the beauty of pregnancy. Nature is so profound, and the idea of creation from dust is what I wanted to portray with this piece. I kept the image simple and without a face so that any person could relate the work to their own life, experience, or thought.
Peace in Wonder
Peace in Wonder is an oil painting over collage on a 24"x36" canvas. The collage under the painting is musical notes and words from the songs Ave Maria and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. This piece represents finding the beauty and peace in a time of change and uncertainty. The birds represent the past, present, and future.
